Tulips and Daffodils
Folder: Flowers and Plants
Tyrian Purple
Photographed at Christianson's Garden Center in the Skagit Valley.
Color-break Tulip
If I am not mistaken, these color breaks are caused by a virus, but they produce some very unusual flowers. This was photographed at Roozengaaarde's Bulb Gardens in the Skagit Valley of northwest Washington at the time of the annual tulip festival.

"O Lord! that lends me life, lend me a heart replete with thankfulness."
In Explore November 25, 2009, #226.
It is Thanksgiving Day here in the States and we wish all our friends "a heart replete with thankfulness."
The photo is from last spring when we visited the tulip and daffodil fields in the Skagit Valley. This photo was taken in the gardens of one of the bulb growers, Roozengaarde's.
The quotation is from Shakespeare's Henry VI.
Skagit Valley Tulips
This photo was taken by my wife last spring during the Tulip Festival in the Skagit Valley of Northwest Washington.
Memories of Spring
It is dreary, cold and raining here every day and record amounts of snow are already falling in the mountains. It looks like an early and hard winter and spring seems far away.
