Saguaro Cacti
These Saguaro Cacti were photographed in Organ Pipe National Monument on the Arizona-Mexico border. We saw them all across Arizona and would see them again, many of them, in Saguaro National Park.
Organ Pipe Cactus
One of the places we visited on our recent trip to California and Arizona was Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Arizona-Mexico border. This is the cactus which the national monument features, the Organ Pipe Cactus, Stenocereus thurberi.
Barrel Cacti
The Cactus in the foreground is a Barrel Cactus, the Emory Barrel Cactus, photographed in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. The cacti in the background are Saguaros and the long-stemmed plants Ocotillos.
The Battleship
This formation is near the Crystal Forest area of Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona and is known as "The Battleship."
White Sands Sunset
This was the sunset a year ago when we were in White Sands National Park, New Mexico.

We watched the sunset at White Sands National Park last year as we were traveling through the area on our way to Grand Canyon.

Last year we stopped for an evening in White Sands National Park in New Mexico as we traveled from Texas to Arizona. We hiked few of the trails and watched the sunset there before traveling on.
Horseshoe Bend
This was the area through which we walked to the overlook for Horseshoe Bend, part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
Horseshoe Bend
On our way home from the Grand Canyon last year we stopped briefly at Horseshoe Bend and walked to the overlook where I took this panorama with my cell phone. Horseshoe Bend is on the Colorado River and is near the town of Page, Arizona. It is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
