Riverside Geyser
On our way to the Black Hills we stopped briefly in Yellowstone National Park and hiked the area around Old Faithful Geyser. We were fortunate to see Riverside Geyser erupting just as we came to it. The geyser is on the Firehole River and erupts every 5-7 hours.

Old Faithful can be anti-climactic on its own. This must have been a special surprise. I remember in the Old Faithful basin years ago, the beehive went off. It shot up like the fountain in Lake Geneva. Special memory.

I agree. We, in fact, went to see Old Faithful only because we had grandchildren with us. It is by no means the best of the geysers in Yellowstone.
