Gibbon Falls

Gibbon Falls
Gibbon Falls is on the west side of the upper loop in Yellowstone National Park (the main road in Yellowstone is a huge figure eight). The falls are on the Gibbon River and drop 84 feet. They are named for Colonel John Gibbon who was part of the 1872 Geological Survey of Yellowstone. They are one of many spectacular waterfalls in the park.

Isn't this just gorgeous!!! Absolutely stunning waterfall, beautifully taken! I didn't realize there are so many waterfalls--sounds a lot like Yosemite. Also didn't realize the main road is a figure 8! I would love to see this place again, only went there once on one day many yrs ago!
