Looks like a Northwest version of the Ontario Gothic cottage, except that it's frame instead of brick and has a porch rather than a gable over the door. Anyway, Ontario is full of cottages with a window each side of the door. They're maybe a bit deeper than this one, though. I can understand the addition here. Is this a regional style?

This isn't really regional, just a typical old farmhouse. However, I believe it may have been influenced by the New England Saltbox. Those were very modest and Protestant-looking, houses built in the early colonial days in Connecticut (mid-1600s). Most had additions on the sides or back, eventually. There are lots of the type above on old farms and small towns in the Prairie states and the west, of course much newer. I assume the attraction was modesty, economy and ease of construction. This one was probably built in the 20s. The saltbox style is still built, especially on both coasts, so classic that it's considered quite stylish. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltbox

I'm going to upload another one in a different town nearby, which is older, probably 1900-1910s, and fancier. Thanks, John!
