Reflections are a real problem. I often photograph the painting at about 45° and then straighten it up with DxO ViewPoint.
If I photograph from the front, I straighten the edges with the same software.
I also use it for "architectural" photos, for the horizon, etc.

DxO ViewPoint. seems to be a very good program. I wish everybody who takes photos of buildings would use it!!!
