Every year, at the end of October, shepherds of the village below the mountain Vlašić (1943 m altitude) where snow is retained for up to 6 months, due to lack of food for flocks of sheep and the impossibility of grazing, with their herds which sometimes counts up to a thousand sheep, moving to the lower area to feed and preserve their flocks. For spend six months outdoors shepherds bring with them food, clothing, tents.For that burden donkey are of the most resilient animals. On a long journey, a short part of the way, ithey are escorted by an older shepherd. The herd has several owners so the property is marked with a certain color. To be continued ...
