If you start from the bottom you can see the Bright dot Which is 47 Tucane just above the 4. Next Above to the very left of the first word you can see the three stars in a line Y1, Y2,Y3 Octane in this case bottom to the top. Just above to the left of the first word is the 4 Octanes in the shape of a bowl been tipped out over to the left Left to right around the 4 . X Oct, Sig. Oct or Polaris Australis below T Oct and U Oct the lowest one. the area of the South Celestial pole Is just below the very left front of the A. you can almost draw a line through them all. All of this is made possible because of the Pole Master I can for the first time actually see them as they are. They move, the bowl shape of the octans moves around in a 360 rotation depending on the month and time of night. I have to use an app on the phone to see what shape I am looking for to find them they dont have names on them out in space. Now look at the night sky and try and find them. this is one of the 16mm shots that could have made up the bow below, cropped so you can see the area of the sky.

The long walk home.

Just before I left At 5 AM in the morning I set my camera up as horizontal and took 4 photos of the whole bow with the 14 mm lens. The bow is sitting South to North and the Center Due West . Bottom right hand corner are the lights of Two Rocks, this is just 20 min from home. There are plenty of PIPs that come from my use of a tracker in the night sky. According to aboriginal Legend this Emu has found his mate and is protecting the Egg, hence the Emu looking out into space watching what comes, bottom left end of the bow.. In summer time the Emu is hunting for a mate hence looking down at the ground The PIP that shows the whole Bay is at 3 am when the bow is very high in the sky This shot is sitting much lower in the sky.

After Last night attempt I thought I would try again in the city from home. I was foiled by clouds 36 shots 3 min subs ISO 500 and back files Edited in Lr. these are not guided YET just set up and tracked. finally feel I am getting some where. PIP shows where Carina is in the sky.

This is the night it all came true it was a trial under the moon. the computer program all worked so I just let it run. I was after NGC 300 is a spiral galaxy. It was off so just a star field but finally we have all the parts working perfectly. Next clear moon less night it will be the target. I cant wait for a black night no moon like this night. None the less there are a lot of very small Galaxies in this shot well past my lens limit of 600mm more 1500mm or better.

It was so black out here I could not resist a 360 degree shot of just the heavens and all those stars. If you look to the trees on the Right you can see the red light on the battery back for the mount and the car in front where I slept. Do Look FULL SCREEN.

Just before I went to bed I did a final walk about, Lit this two shot vertical panorama by light painting the road under the camera.

I went out to try deep space photography(you can see the computer screen in the trees on the right) and to be able to get the Milky Way on the Western track. You certainly cant miss the Perth Light plume. Elise Followed me out as I took the shots but was surprised to see her in the shot.

While I got us at 4 am this is moon set 5:30 am and matched with Sunrise at 6:30am so there was no time at all to get a dark bow. I kind of set out to do the impossible but here it is that impossible a bow. to the left sunrise to the right moon set..........................................

The day after my father passed away I had organised weeks before to go out and shoot the last of the Milky way. I did not tell the other two of what happened with my father till we where well on the way. I told them I wanted to go out and enjoy the night and for a few hours Forget of my father Passing and enjoy something he enjoyed. This photo is for my father. This is one of those Two ups the ground is exposed for 5 min untracked and the sky was 3min exposure with the tracker turned on. The very last of the Sundown light can be see on the left hand end. The other two where together setting up by the time I had finished my First Bow. On my way around I noted 5 police/ambulance on the the high way all in the same place at what looked like the entrance to the turn off the red and blue light the right side. we all guessed an accident but we saw no evidence of any thing when we went home after 11. They where there a very long time. This was also shot with the Clear night filter I kept some of the Blue in the shot.

The shot was taken between the two houses to hide from the light on the street and to try and hide away from the howling winds. take note on the movement in the tree in front in the 1.3sec. Bottom is a very small crescent moon, Next bright start in a line to the right and up is Venus, Saturn is next but quite a bit dimmer and at the top of the line Jupiter. 1.3sec ISO1600 24mm

clouded last night , clouds building rest of the week, I took this just in case. Friday the moon is the other end of the line of planets from Monday.

Its was no easy shot just as it had been predicted Clouds. I had to wait till it was clear enough to get a shot. Venus is next to the street light bottom left. Saturn is next to the tree Jupiter is under the moon, at least I did get a shot.

As the heavy clouds where closing in I tried to get a shot of the three Planets and moon clears but not quite to be. the moon is further away from the planets and quite a bit fuller the very last of the daylight.

Dead center of the shot you can the start of the night Orion . The horse head nebula is on the bottom right corner of the Pot. At this stage you will have to wait till Saturday sunday to see the result but so far its looking quite amazing.

After a day of working under clouds just as I was about to go to bed I looked outside The clouds Cleared. This is the house behind my parents home just to back is the Manakau Harbour and Auckland central to the left. all lighting is provided by the street light at the front of the house. this shot is well with in the city limits.
