Beryl Dawn Paxton 1933-2026

Beryl Dawn Paxton 1933-2026
I lost my mother Finally today 6am NZ time but I did get to say a few words to her before I choked up. I did say goodbye 4 years ago to the shell that dementia left behind, Today that part of her finally is at peace. She did not really understand that she lost her husband and love of her life while she was in the home. She did not recover from the Flu @ 93 years only to be left sleeping and not eating or drinking. I did say parting words to her as she lay in her bed unmoving but we are told she can hear what is said.

I am truly Sorry to say that I don't have any body to look up to like my parents but I did learn a lot.

You cant miss my parents Like me they both carry a camera, loved nature and life.

Sadly I dont know when( Well before marriage) the photo above was taken but I do know who the photographer was. Enjoy your parents for as long as you can there is nothing like being left on your own and then you are the one that has to care for the next generation.

Steve, you have our deepest condolences. I know I am a few days behind here but our feelings are quite genuine. I feel that I knew both your parents through you. She has gone back to her love now and I know that you are glad that you spent some time with her on your last visit to NZ.

It is never easy to lose a parent nor indeed any loved one but your own life marches on and you still have very close relatives to share your grief with.

A nice selection of memories in the photos and thoughts above.

Thank you Herb while I knew I lost my mother years ago it is no easy thing to say good bye to the last evidence of your start in life. I know my mother did not know where her husband and love of her life had gone to just he was not there. truly the cruellest of ailment's that we could ever face. To loose a person little by little as the years go bye, yes I did say good by to my mother all those years ago now it to say good bye to the shell that was my mothers body with no mind. I am a loving son so its been hard to see this all slowly take place over the years but I am truly happy that the end was in her sleep and pain free.

I got the news my niece and husband saw her get taken away but on the top of the coffin was Daffodils and freesia's that all came from there garden. Thank you I am a little bit lost.
