Batavia Gallery

Batavia Gallery
What is left of the Ship Batavia and how it was made safe to be viewed by the public and preserved. There is a lot of reading here but well worth putting some time in the reading, this is the original maritime museum of Fremantle. This is now Called the ship wreck Museum not to be confused with the more modern one next to the harbour.

The real story of the ship and the survivors its not a very pretty story be warned.

I do like the inside shot Steve. My kind of museum and exhibition pieces here reminding me of when I saw the 'Mary Rose' housed under water before being dried out.. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck in the CWP. Herb

Herb of the two Museums this is the one I also like it has so much of what has been found off the WA coast. I would love to get the chance to see the Mary Rose up close the same sort of preservation as this Vessel. The photo that I did not include was one of the skeletons found on the island of the survivors of the wreck I thought it just a bit to Macabre..... This is always a place I do like to visit and take the camera and use it to its limits. Many thanks it seems we share a lot in common.
