Two sides of the mount.

Two sides of the mount.
Dont be fooled its not two but the two sides together as one photo.

this is the complexity of the mount that takes the photos you are seeing. its hidden behind the run down shed it was sitting on sand but I built a base I can lift away and the fake grass to keep the sand down. there are three wall of shade cloth to try and kill the winds like tonight.

This is the permanent home of all the gear till I change it it stays outside 24/7/365 but covered for the condition sun or rain.

Now as most of the mount parts run from 12 V the lithium battery now sit under the middle of the mount. no longer do I run from a computer outside it all done by net work cable into the desktop inside my room.

for those astute to notice there is a funny small weight at the bottom of the weight bar this is the final balance weight that can be mover full 360 degrees. once balanced where I put the mount with both clutched off it stays there, test walk away for 5 min see if it moves. it is so finely balanced leave the scope lens cap on mount will not sit still if you balanced it with no cap.

wires enough to get you confused thats for sure but all are 100% logical, only thing you are not seeing is my cheap plastic( shopping bag) dew cover that covers over all the wires and connection points as a kind of rain coat..

tiabunna, Diana Australis, Sarah O', Paolo Tanino and 5 other people have particularly liked this photo

All around the world this happens as much as I would like to, you cant shoot outer space from inside a house. you need to be out in the open with as big a view of the sky you can get. It is when you look at it like this it looks complicated but its very logical once you understand. Hope you have a very good year 2023 as well.

All I can say is "wow". I'll accept that the entire set-up is logical, Steve, but I'm sure there was a lot of time and effort involved. Your images show the successful result.

wow was my first night of all these wires two years ago and there was even less, it has been a slow logical build to make all this less wires up and down more hubs up top. I will slowly be building a new telescope "slow" was the word as I have plenty this time of year to keep me busy. the current set up ticks all the right boxes and works, works is the most important part.

You may ask would have I given up, no matter at whenever it was not working right I never gave it a thought but its been spurred on by the results and they are about to get even better I hope if I can master the programs.

we are blessed with nights like tonight not a cloud in the sky horizon to horizon clear skies and reasonably dark skies. yes its been a long haul but well worth it and I hope the results show it while I post the results for myself I hope that there is a few out there that have an interest and enjoy the shots of space from my backyard. currently working on the Jelly fish two shot panorama 6 night shooting.

Many thanks I hope that you enjoy the results. Just maybe there is a certain amount of madness who would want this much "Pleasure and Pain".
