By way of instruction For those who want to try getting a bow photo 2

By way of instruction For those who want to try getting a bow photo 2
The same 7 shots that i did in photo shop But in PT Gui . Find the joins but it is more work for you setting control points . result i believe speaks for it self and it works time after time. yes the panorama stitcher does matter for what you want to do.

see if you can find my water bottle. hint go black

Martine, William Sutherland, ColRam, and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Yes, I have found your bottle (won't mark it, though, in order not to spoil the fun for others). Great comparison of stitching results.

Thanks But lots of things wrong with the shot but my first real try at a Milky way Bow. You learn each time this shot was taken 11 /10 / 2015. water bottle glows alright.

This to me is what i believe you would get in England with a little care this is taken over all the coastal light from all the cities, you can see them all. many thanks it was worth the look back.

Haha, I found the bottle! Yes, the difference between stitching programmes is striking! Because of the visible seams I never used Photostitch...ICE has got to grips with procection issues now and works well with daytime panos but you cannot set control points.

From what i have found Day every thing works well like me Herb has gone the same way and seen the same. his Bow came down under for me to put together as he found nothing worked he had or got for free. i have to say once you get a panorama made in PtGui you can push it about to get things right nothing else comes even close. I have ICE on my laptop but sadly still fails at night and no its not old but the new version. I still have about 5 panorama makers on my computer but my only night one is PtGui i use the rest for day.

Pt Gui not one control point added stitched perfectly first up. i still say that you have to think what you want and how it effects the end result. Yes the joins area big thing that show a good result or not . i have been there long time before and l know you get what you pay for or not in the night time.

this was some thing i had never done as all my first work here was Hugin but the result with PTGui surpasses all the others i ever made. you are looking at my first ever real try to get a Bow but there are so many thing wrong with this shot i would never do again but the result no matter what still spins me out that i made all the right decisions to try and learn. i only hope all of this is some thing others on here can learn from and never be afraid to ask questions, how. i think this is one off my personal bucket list of to do................... every one i do spins me out first to the very latest.

glad you saw the bottle it glows in all the city lights..............

Hi Steve

Great respect here for your technical ability.
While some parts of England get clear skies, sadly most don't and the city lights bleed off the atmospheric haze. That is why it is so nice to see your pics. Thank you for sharing them!

Best wishes,
Peter

all from England and easily repeatable its not the best type of photography you are up against so many things that can go wrong but when it all goes right.
