I see. We have sometime also fire, but not like yours. Yes, I often have seen it in the news, even if I don't understand why there are so big fires. Cheers,Daniela

Daniela the theory is at this time of year its not so hot things dont get out of control so fast, little less windy and all the build up of undergrowth has happened so it will cut down the major fuel load. its a case of trying to get ahead of the summer fires by starving them of fuel. it some times works depends how hot the fires get to even burn the big trees there is a lot of bush out there that is impossible to get to. Australia is a very big place and all of it is tinder dry. Steve

A lovely rolling landscape. Yes, much as the smoke is a nuisance it's better to have controlled burns in benign weather than raging infernos in mid summer. HFF.
