Ogni fine settimana i banchetti dei venditori di libri si radunano ai piedi della statua. Nel periodo di Natale accoglie il Mercatino degli artigiani del Paese invitato.

It occupies the former intersection of the two main streets of the Roman city of Argentoratum. In its centre is the Statue of Gutenberg (the inventor of printing, who lived in Strasbourg from 1434 onwards for about ten years and developed his invention here).
