A Cooper's Hawk...

A Cooper's Hawk...
...outside our building, after an attempt to catch one of the little birds at our feeders. I am sorry that he left, still hungry. He needs to survive, too, not just sparrows and chickadees.

Excellent photo. When I see them they are either flying or perched in a tree mostly hidden by leaves.

Thanks, Ron. It was a strange moment. I was on my way out the door with Maggie when I spotted the hawk in the tree at the other end of our building. I dropped the leash, ran inside and grabbed the camera and when I came back outside, he was still there, but only long enough for this one shot.
