Die gelben Ahorn bleiben gelb, die roten werden nur rot. Der Norweger Ahorn faerbt sich zuletzt und wird knallgelb. Der Rote Ahorn faerbt sich knallrot, der Zuckerahorn, aus dem der Ahornsirup gewonnen wird, faerbt sich ganz bunt, gelb mit orange und bis fast rosa. Alle Ahornarten sind hier im Nordosten Amerikas heimisch.
