And here in Mississippi, the high temperature today was +24℃. Certainly no ice.

That is a normal summer temperature. There has been no ice at all on the lake, at least not in our area.

Ja, du hast recht, aber Dezember ist vorbei mit wenig Schnee und Januar nun auch schon halb. Das heisst, statt 4 Monate eisigem, schneereichen Winter sind es nun nur noch 2 1/2 Monate, das ist fuer uns ein rieisges Geschenk. Ich kann nicht erinnern, dass in den 51 Jahren, die ich hier schon gelebt habe, jemals ein Winter so mild war. Vor zwei Tagen hatten wir 7°C. Die Normaltemperatur fuer Januar liegt sonst um minus 10 - 20 Grad.
