I need to get my nose closer. I am encouraging milkweed to help the monarch butterflies.

Yes, do yourself a favor, you'd be surprised how wonderful they smell. My friend Brenda (she passed away a month ago) used to raise butterflies in their house. She collected eggs. The Monarch eggs were always on the underside of milkweed leaves. Two years ago was the last summer she did this and was successful in raising 22 butterflies, 14 Monarchs and 8 Black Swallowtails.

I think I was too late. I couldn't find any milkweeds blooming today.
