Armadillo

About a week ago, I noticed a hole in the ground with smooth sides. I pointed my "critter cam" at the hole and got these night photos.

Flying squirrel

This species is strictly nocturnal. They don't exactly fly; the climb up a tree and glide down to another tree. They spread their legs which stretches skin between their legs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_squirrel

Fox squirrel

This species is common in some parts of North America. Where I live in northern Mississippi, they are rather uncommon and live in denser parts of the forest. Their color is quite variable, ranging from red (which gives them their name) to pure black. This individual has a black face, but is mostly red. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_squirrel

Gray squirrel

The most common species here in Mississippi. These have become very common visitors at the "bird" feeders near my house. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_gray_squirrel
