New to me! A remarkable looking bird!

Thanks for the visit, Andy. They are particularly striking birds. When I was a child in Indiana, this was the common woodpecker. They became rather rare for a while because of loss of habitat and competition from the European starling, but their population has recovered since.

I'm pleased it's numbers are recovering!
