Kingbird sitting on nest on a hot day
I think this is an excellent site for a nest, and apparently this kingbird thinks so, too. This is its second year in this nest. It is near the end of a long pine branch over-hanging the pond.

Exactly, Maurice. The weather has become rather hot lately. The nest is near the end of a long, horizontal limb that extends over the water. I think it would be very difficult for a land animal to reach the nest.
