Der Bau einer dreischiffigen romanischen Kirche mit vier Jochen und massivem Westturm erfolgte zwischen 1215 und 1230. Die Kirche maß etwa 28,70 m in der Länge und etwa 14,35 m in der Breite. Der nächste Neubau wurde Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts erforderlich und nach den Plänen von Johann Joseph Couven (1751) als barocke dreischiffige Pfeilerbasilika durch die Gebrüder Franz und Paul Klausener fertiggestellt. lt. Wikipedia
