Dear members and friends of ipernity,
1. Outreach support needed (advisory position).
For our club to have a good future, it needs to be better known. Therefore, we need to promote ipernity. There are many ways to do this. Some of them have already been put in place. But we need someone who has a little time to keep these activities alive. New ways of promoting ipernity could also be found.
Advisors would coordinate with the team, but have autonomy to run their own projects. There is no specific time commitment.
Does this pique your interest? Please let the team know!
2. Uploads since ima took over.
Since the transfer of operations to ima on September 1, 2017, almost 3.2 million photos have been added to our photo platform. This is more than 1,500 uploads per day. It is great to see so much activity keeping our site alive.
This is the upload from September 1, 2017, 00:23:21, where we started.

Where will we go next?
3. Homepage preview.
This new feature is for everyone, but especially for those of you who are interested in suggesting photos for inclusion on the homepage. In the Actions menu you will find a new option called 'Homepage preview'. Whether you are looking at one of your own photos, or one taken by a member, this provides a quick way to check if it is suitable. Perhaps it needs to be cropped to fit the required format, or maybe flipped left to right (mirrored) for the placement of the logo. You will find two buttons to help you check the effect of these two adjustments.
Have fun!
Your ima team.
◉ The suggested motif has been seen before in a similar form. (If it is more exciting than the existing one, of course I take it.)
◉ Also useless for advertising purposes are commonplace motifs that everyone knows and that have been seen dozens of times. Sunsets, for example.
◉ The main motif is not in the centre of the Fibonnacci spiral on the right, or rather the eye is not drawn there. Only then will the overall impression be balanced with the ipernity logo.
Here are two examples where *db* has accepted the suggestions, but I still can't use them:
The photo is completely overloaded. You don't know where to look. One yellow flower touches the ipernity logo. There is emptiness in the centre of the Fibonnaci spiral.
The eye-catcher is the monkey. However, this is not in the centre of the fibonnaci spiral. Instead, there is emptiness or a lot of blurred stuff that is irrelevant for the photo. The picture may be a good snapshot, but it is not suitable for advertising purposes.
If you mirror the image, it fits a little better, but not well. At the top left, the leaves interfere with the logo. On the right, in the centre of the Fibonacci spiral, there is only the tree trunk. You could try to enlarge the image and stamp away the leaves. But then the monkey's mouth would still be obscured by a branch stump.
And all in all, the question arises: is the torn open mouth of a monkey an attractive motif for advertising purposes?
Here it is:
The logo is very nicely free-standing, the face is in exactly the right position. This results in a balanced overall impression.
