Due to heavy rain Yesterday morning the planned grass cutting was postponed and I did a little shopping instead.
The rain stopped and it turned out quite pleasant but the grass didn't dry so today after a restful morning the highlight of which was a visit from my son Stephen I set about cutting and strimming the front.
That went well so after a break I mowed the larger back part and had a long break before strimming where the flower pots and planters are. With my old body still holding up well I went for broke and strimmed the part by the fruit bushes and all was going well until the very final part. A belligerent Gooseberry bush launched and unprovoked attack on my right hand and gouged a chuck of bark off the back of my hand about half and inch long and deep enough to keep bleeding. I had to stop and clean it up but the bleeding continued so I got the old styptic shaving stick from the bathroom, bugger that stung but did the job so I finished the strimming and cleaned and stowed the tools.
Now I am all shiny and bright having just clambered out of a Radox bath, one of life's simple pleasures.
Time for dinner,a chicken dish of some sort I think.

The rain that ceased over there arrived here yesterday before sunset and continued until after lunch, later a few sunny patches now and then but walking on wet grass is not my favoured occupation so not many photos to upload later.
Keep fit and dry.
John.
