With an easy day ahead of me,at least until I stumble across a job that's needs doing, I poured a second coffee after the birds had been fed and the cats went off on their first mission of the day.
All was quiet until I heard the harsh squawk of a bird. I knew this wasn't the call of one of the Crow family but that of some sort of Parrot. Grabbing my camera I went outside and there high up in one of John's trees was this fella. A Ring-necked Parakeet in all his glory.
Parakeets have settled in the far south east of the country but not this far north. There are two possibilities,an escaped pet or one that has absconded from the animal park about 5 miles away. I couldn't get a glimpse to see if it was wearing a leg tab. Wherever he came from he brightened a dull grey morning and having had a good feed flew away, maybe he'll be back.
The good weather has gone and we are awaiting rain and a cold front arriving later today. OH GOODY!!!
Time to sort lunch soup and crusty bread in this weather I think, catch up later
Is that a U boat in the channel?

Have a great weekend.
He had quite a cool but nice Saturday here, then rain later and overnight. The ground around here definitely needed it.
