Yesterday was a lovely mild sunny day perfect for a stroll over the bridge for a little shopping. There is no sign of new growth in the little haven or the sound of activity in the boat yard as people ready their boats for the better weather ahead. The haven is almost all evergreen anyway so changes little throughout the year. It was a pleasant walk anyway and nice to see people strolling around without layers of clothes trying to keep an icy wind from sawing them in half.
Back home I had a wander round the garden and found a few signs of life with bulbs springing up in the borders. The tubs are doing well with no signs of cat activity to date which is good news. I was quietly checking all of this when I heard a voice calling me,looking round I spied the head of a neighbour popping up behind the wall. I wandered over and to my delight the reason for the visit was the gift of a large steak of fresh fish,so large it wouldn't fit in my fryer so I hacked it in two and froze one piece. Today I am going to make a batter and fry the fish for dinner along with chips, mushy peas and bead and butter. It is a long time since I fried a piece of fish so I am looking forward to that.
Late last night after Jenny rang I heard the patter of raindrops on the window and by the time I retired the rain was hammering on the windows to be let in.Everything is still soaking wet this morning with rain clouds still hanging around, no stroll this morning.
