With a strong north westerly bringing the snow towards us we were waiting expecting a covering at least. Then the weather gods looked kindly upon us and the wind shifted to a full 50 to 60mph westerly and the snow skirted around us.
We have snow to the north, east and south but the little Furness peninsula remain free from the white stuff and even the frost. There is nothing west of us until the Isle of Man.We had rain and hail showers which are still continuing but unless the weather front does and about turn we look to be OK.
A local news flash:: Police and the bomb disposal squad are on Walney bridge. More as that unfolds, the bridge is our only way onto the mainland apart from by small boat and it would be a brave soul who venture onto the channel in the weather.
The sun is here and explosives dealt with safely.

Today here began with a red sky, the clouds left and for a few moments the sun made an appearance followed again by black clouds that now and then drop snow in tiny amounts.
Minus 2 C now.n
Not nice to have a bomb in your back yard.
The snow last night hit Preston, England. My friend Carol was messaging me because she hates the snow. Was hoping it turned to rain before she had to go to work. I must check on her. Glad you missed it by you.
Oh, hope it was nothing serious and all is sorted now.
