I made a quick dash to the shop this morning,I needed cow juice and since the Milkman stopped the daily doorstep deliveries I haven't been organised and occasionally run low.The same thing with my eggs and spuds. On the way I met up with 5 people and four of them were solo dwellers like myself. We are all of a similar age so I suppose that is to be expected.

When I first lost Margaret 12 years ago I was in a poor state of health both mentally and physically and I found being alone for the first time in my life very hard. Over time I settled into my own routine and perfected the cooking Margaret spent her last few months trying so hard to make me good at. She wanted to make sure I could look after myself without resorting to ready meals and junk food and nobody could have done a better job.

Now I am happy with my own company,in fact living with another person is not something I would choose to do. I have my own ways of doing things and somebody else messing about in my kitchen is a non starter. I am contented and visitors are welcome as long as they have a return ticket home.

I had a phone call off my grandson Carl earlier,he plugged a heater into the wall socket in his room and made the house an instant power free zone, everything went off. So I toddled round for a look see and was relieved to find the trip switch for the circuit had be activated.I made sure the heater was unplugged, flipped the switch and all is well again there.

You know how you get the urge for something tasty for lunch? Well my cravings today turned towards beans on toast with two poached eggs on top, very simple but by it was good.

Nothing else to report from paradise apart from the fact it's cold and raining, but that is nothing new this year.
Stay safe and warm people especially you lot over the big puddle. Catch you soon.
