Is a question we get asked, well it's not earth shattering.
Jenny kicked off with a report about the shopping she had delivered, shopping is always a good subject for us with bargains to discuss. This led on to cooking and a little of how I learned to make more varied meals than the standard fare. Recipes brought Ceefax to mind for Jenny and finding recipes on it. This then lead to copying recipes for friends which had to be done on a typewriter with carbon paper. Jenny said the girls used to put streaks in their hair if the were natural blondes by rubbing it with carbon paper. Jenny's isn't and hers turned a funny green I think it was. Of course this lead on to the vivid colour the young women have their hair dyed today being talked about and how much we both like them.
Somehow this lead to Mandi complaining to Jenny it was too hot at 41c-105.8 f while Jenny was a lot colder at 16c-60.8 f. and Mandi's cats attempts to keep cool. From there we somehow got to Tupperware containers and this lead to other early kitchen gadgets. I remembered the chipper a gadget you put a peeled potato in pulled down a lever and a guillotine type thing sliced the spud into chips. Very high tech for it's day. Self assembly furniture was the next subject and Jenny rather alarmingly gave a single humming noise,as though she has another job lined up for me
Street life was next a web site to keep in touch with events in your area, people offering the services for small jobs are wanting somebody to do a chore for a few hours a week etc.
I gave Jenny lots of brownie points when she told me she had mopped the hallway. She uses a mild bleach solution and of course this reminded me of the way cats really get excited my bleached floors and roll about on them rather like a dog in mud.
On to the big cycle tour in France which we were still discussing when the gong went and it was time to say goodbye until tonight. Not very exciting stuff but it keeps our simple minds alert. These are just the bare bones of the subjects we have wander off many times.
We will have another raft of subjects turn up tonight along with the reoccurring ones like food, cats and the weather.

I occasionally think about getting my hair died a nice colour such as purple, but I always chicken out, especially when I see how things can go wrong and how some people are highly allergic to the hair dye. Just my luck, I'd be one of them! We used to have a male student who had long, bright blue hair, and another male student who wore long skirts. We get all sorts here...
As you say we talk about any and everything under the sun with one thing never mentioned of course.
Stormlizard club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubI know some of my here to Japanese group meetings often included friends from Taiwan, Thailand and China with the odd Korean at times. We would begin on Friday night and end on Sunday evening coming in and leaving now and then to make food or eat etc. The subjects were very varied and went as you say back and forth often never reaching any specific end to where we began.
