I awoke to a very warm muggy morning, just a taste of what was to come.
After checking a weather alert on my reader I decided the grass would have to be cut today and with afternoon temps set to soar it better be a morning job.
I started on the front as usual and had that mowed and strimmed by 9:30,good going so far.
I took a good break as the weather was so humid it was sapping and then mowed the largest of the back plots, another break and a coffee needed then before moving 19 of the 21 planters out of the way to attack that plot. It was at this time my skin sprang a leak, well several leaks as it happens.
Yet another break and then it was strimming all the borders and around the fruit bushes. I collapsed into my chair/recliner and took time out and lit a briar. Before starting on cutting the rest of the patch where the fruit bushes are I doused myself with a liberal coating of sun screen. I am not your typical pasty skinned indoor Englishman but spent a lot of time out side and always have some colour but no chances were taken. I finished the final cut and finally took a good long breather. Only the tools to clean and stow, the planters to put back and the paths to sweep, sweeping like strimming is one of those jobs that knocks lumps off my back. I retired indoors for a while and a session on my massage chair, but now it was turning from warm and muggy to hot and very muggy. Back out again I finally finished up and stowed the tools, very satisfied with my work and happy my back behaved itself mostly. I did one more little chore before taking a cool shower, not a cold one you understand I'm no masochist. I picked some gooseberries for Allan so that won me some brownie points which I badly need to even things up a little.
So showered and pampered I ventured back out taking my digital thermometer with me. The temp in the hose was 26c, a smidgen under 80f outside it leapt to27c and peaked at 28-over 82f.That may not be hot to some of you folk but with the humidity hovering around 85% it was plenty hot enough for me.
It's now around 5:15 and it's still 26c in here and 27 outside but tomorrow it changes again,it is going to be hotter but we have thunder storms and torrential rain forecast, I am so glad I did the garden today even if it did bite back a little.
Another glorious day and a surprise for Ellen

After yesterdays very hot calm but not muggy day it was a little cooler today with some wind but even so we hit 30 C by lunchtime. The sky is still blue from a - z, wonder what tomorrow will bring.
Keep safe.
Here, it peaked at 29C which is hotter than I like it and very muggy. It makes for an uncomfortable night and I'm yawning my way through the morning so far.
We've had a brief shower here but it's not helped matters. We need a good downpour to freshen things up.
