Anyone having problems today?
- 12 Mar 2019 - 5 commentsI'm having a lot of problems today, accessing my contacts photos. I get there eventually, but it's very very slow. Anyone else had these problems today? I am asking because I'm having problems with my laptop lately, and I'm not sure if that is the problem, or if it's a site problem. My internet seems to be working ok elsewhere.

Update 28th Jan.
- 28 Jan 2019 - 24 commentsHello my friends. Just a quick update for you. On Weds I had the wires removed from my shoulder by local anaesthetic. The surgeon only wanted to remove one, then do the second one under a general anaesthetic later because it was in an awkward position. But I didnt want that hanging over me. Was going to be painful, but he said, "it's your call" So I said, do it all now and get it over with. Not only that, I think it would have prolonged the recovery time which I did not want. So I bit the…

- 07 Dec 2018 - 5 commentsQuote of the Day ------------------------- Woman's Quote of the Day: "Men are like fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something with which you'd like to have dinner with." Men's Counter-Quote of the Day: "Women are like fine wine. They all start out fresh, fruity and intoxicating to the mind and then turn full-bodied with age until they go all sour and vinegary and give…

Sherlock Holmes
- 06 Nov 2018 - 2 commentsSherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson were on a camping and hiking trip. They had gone to bed and were lying awake looking up at the sky. Holmes said, "Watson, look up. What do you see?" "I see thousands of stars," replied Watson. Then Holmes asked, "And what does that mean to you?" "Well," said Watson "I suppose it means we will have another nice day tomorrow. What does it mean to you, Holmes?" "To me Watson, it means someone has stolen our tent!"

A tribute to Montserrat Cabellé .
- 06 Oct 2018 - 2 commentsA tribute to Montserrat Cabellé, who died today aged 85. Concepción Caballé i Folch, was a Spanish operatic soprano. She sang a wide variety of roles, but is best known as an exponent of the works of Verdi and of the bel canto repertoire, notably the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti which she performed in leading opera houses. Caballé became a household name in 1987 when at the request of the IOC she recorded "Barcelona", a duet with Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the British…

A French joke.
- 03 Oct 2018 - 4 commentsReceived this from my friend John (Stormlizard) A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from The Louvre Museum. After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van. However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, "Monsieur that is the reason I stole the paintings. I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van…
