The Carlisle Brothers (Bill and Cliff) recorded "Rainbow At Midnight" (B. and J. Miller) in 1946 and reached number five on the Country chart. Within weeks it was recorded by others and eventually reached the top of the charts on a version by Ernest Tubb. The Carlisle Brothers first recording was Country Jimmie Rodgers' "T For Texas".
"The Honeycomb Kid", Jimmie Rodgers recorded "Rainbow At Midnight" for the Dot label in 1962 and peaked at number sixteen on Billboard's Adult Contemporary listing. This track has been re-issued on quite a few "rare collection" compact discs.
