Seventeen year old Bobby Freeman composed and recorded "Do You Want To Dance" in 1958. His effort peaked at number five on the Top One Hundred and number two on the R&B chart.
Britain's Cliff Richard and the Shadows issued "Do You Want To Dance" as a B side in 1962. This made the U.K. and other countries charts top ten.
The Beach Boys "big" cover of "Do You Wanna Dance" featuring Dennis Wilson on vocal lead with members of The Wrecking Crew comes from the album "The Beach Boys Today!" and reached number eight in 1965.
In 1972 the Bette Midler slowed down version of "Do You Want To Dance" works very well and got to number seventeen becoming her first hit. This is from her debut album "The Devine Miss M".
