"That's What Friends Are For" (Bacharach - Sager) was first recorded by Rod Stewart for the 1982 soundtrack of " Night Shift". This was not issued as a single.
Dionne Warwick's multi-Grammy winning cover was from the 1985 album "Friends" featuring Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight for the AIDS Research charity. "That's What Friends Are For" topped the charts are raised millions of dollars while becoming the top Billboard single of 1986.
