Due to technical limitations things are not as smooth as they could be but if you carefully read the following instructions, you should be able to transfer your sets without any problems.
To import a set go to the Flickr set page and click on "CLICK HERE TO START Flickr set importer" underneath the banner on the top of the album page.
For every photo of the set:
- if the photo has already been imported to ipernity it will be added to a similar album on ipernity;
- if the photo is not yet on ipernity it will be imported BUT NOT ADDED TO THE ALBUM. YOU WILL NEED TO RELAUNCH THE SCRIPT TO ADD IT.
This means that only one album may be imported in a maximum of two script passes.
Other important points:
- only photos are imported, no videos.
- only the first 2000 photos of a set are imported (it's the max number of items that can contain an album on ipernity)
- the cover photo and description of the Flickr set are imported as well;
- empty photo titles are now kept empty on ipernity (there was previously a bug, we fixed it)
- don't be afraid if you import a set already imported. It will not be imported twice.
Please tell us if you encounter problems or bugs.
Have fun!
The ipernity Team
I am using a Mac computer running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) - and using the current Chrome browser. I followed each step of the official ipernity instructions: FIRST I installed the Tampermonkey extension/addon. (Then restarted my Mac just to be on the safe side.) THEN I opened 2 pages and logged into both my ipernity and flickr accounts. But THEN ---
And HERE's the problem: the ipernity instructions say: "go to your Flickr photo gallery, click on the button "import to ipernity" underneath the banner on the top of the page" ---
Well guess what? THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON ANYWHERE ON THE FLICKR PAGE. Not underneath the "banner on top of the page" (I'm assuming this means the official flickr banner) - NOT ANYWHERE!!!
I've religiously read all the posts in this help Forum. Apparently one or two other people experienced this problem. (Apparently they were Mac users as well?) Their issues were never answered/responded to. I've also written directly to ipernity, asking for Help, but so far haven't received an answer. So I'm taking the liberty of posting this here.
Would seriously appreciate it if someone, anyone, can give me some helpful suggestions to find this missing/nonexistent button. THANKS in advance!
Desperate in Oregon,
Miguel
