Technical Information: All my photos up to Thursday 6th July 2007 were taken either with an Olympus 720UZ or some cheesy little digital camera. (The Olympus broke on the above date). After that date, I use the Syrius Cybernetics Corporation Photomatic 5000, running version 23 of the Slartibartfast software.


Some photos have code as a title. If you are bored, you can decode it if you like. All the codes ARE decipherable to something real, but are rarely worth the effort.


Any digital processing is usually done using The Gimp and/or my own Imagemagick scripts as well. NO 'Photoshop'/Lightroom or other expensive or proprietary software or products.


I am mainly a writer and musician (of sorts). I will eventually upload some of my own music here, but for now will concentrate on photos.


Some of my favourite photographers are: Diane Arbus, Joel-Peter Witkin, Weegee (Arthur Fellig), Justin Quinnell, E.J. Bellocq, Ansel Adams, Edward Burtynsky, Eugene Atget, and Melodie McDaniel. My favourite types of photos are daguerrotypes, ambrotypes, lomo, and, obviously, grainy black and white.


There are three reasons I will add you as a contact:
1. I already know you in the 'real' world.
2. I really like your photos.
3. You seem intelligent or just a decent human being.
So, if you don't already know me and I add you as a contact, it's one or both of the other options. I don't just add indiscriminately to gain an audience!
