I have no clue about photography. My new Olympus E500 is collecting dust because I don't know how to use it. Need some advice and I am afraid I will actually never get it. In the meantime, I am exploiting my point and shoot Casio Exilim 500.(Why so many 500?? :O )

In any case, since I have taken photography as a new hobby, I noticed that I have developped an increasing interest for those little details in life that people usually do not or want to notice, those corners that people have forgotten, those things that time has tortured and that people ignore as they have lost a bit of their original beauty(or so it seems...), those that are let aside because they are supposed to be ugly or not worth it, those that show a bittersweet side of life and its circumstances. Are they really that hideous and deprived of charm? I do not think so. A closer look to them with affection and a second thought about what it is, what it was and what it is becoming makes me fall in love and picture decay. And then there are those shots of shadows and visual games that a new perspective from reality gives and that is available to those willing to see them. Ah, the wonders of playing with your eyes and brain! It is like looking for shapes in clouds, but taking our terrenial environment and observing it silently with a kids mind...

I find them captivating.

As I see exquisite many of the conventional beauties(sunset, animals, plants,...). Maybe it is that I am not good enough(YET!! :P ) to make those stunning landscapes pictures or I cannot use any of those big post-production tools(YET! :P ), and the only thing I can do is admire those in the work of others-at the end of the day the big photographers need admirers that are not able to picture the same way they do...-, or maybe it is because I like the fact that those impressive decadent and majestous forgotten wonders do need little manipulation because they have already been manipulated by Light, Space, Nature and Time and that, I find absolutely fascinating...

I search for them, I crave for them, I want to pay homage to them, that is all I have to offer for now...

Just that. Not much, but a lot at the same time.
