ipernity: About barçalunacy

Originally from the United States, I returned the first week of January, 2009 for personal reasons. I lived for 7 years in my beloved Barcelona, enjoying the city, especially its people, ONE who I will miss very much, and its places.

It has taken me several weeks, on and off, to upload the photos from Flickr to ipertnity, and set up the albums. Thank goodness for plug-ins.

For now, I need to learn to navigate ipernity better, eventually link my blog to ipernity and possibly leave flickr. I still have a lot of work to do.

I have had no problems with flickr, but I am well aware of those who have had their photos, comments and contacts, who have become friends, deleted and gone, FOREVER. (That’s a long, long time.)

And, with no warning, and no chance to defend YOURSELf, flickr answers by copying verbatim their community guidelines.

I can read too.

So, if someone doesn’t like your photo, even a photo of a kitty sleeping, they complain, you get deleted, maybe you are warned and maybe not,

And,

Your nightmare begins.

Who says life is fair?

So, from them I have learned (ALWAYS HAVE a BACK-UP PLAN) and I am now here, meeting new folks, sharing comments and enjoying ipernity’s diversity.

I began my blog to show family and friends I left behind what I was seeing and experiencing and the longer time passed the blog gathered a small following.

As a matter of fact, I met (yes, in real human person) 2 contacts from flickr who read the blog.

I write in English, my primary language, but I have a translator on the blog. Hopefully, you will stop by and read some of the posts. I think you will smile.

I try to keep my contacts below 50 and groups, well, let’s just say I am working on a number.

That way, I can enjoy each and every photo on my list and comment.
