Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect. (Mark Twain)
Photographic background
I was almost born in a photographic dark room. My father was a pro photographer. I learnt from him everything about B&W photo-shooting and processing at a very young age, assisting him almost everywhere... I was a part-time photographer for many years, until my graduation of Chemistry School of Patras University. After this I continue to be lastingly a shutterbug. I don't remember myself to be without holding a camera. I have kilometers of negatives in my archive and a lot of experience on use of classic 35 mm cameras (like Leica, Praktika, Zenit, Yashica, Nikon FE, Canon AE-1). In the past I used to like also other format cameras like 120 or 620 (Lubitel, Kodak..). My best was to shoot portraits with my father's old photographic camera (on tripod) using single ILFORD negatives 10X15 cm, development, printing...
Going digital
I still own most of my old fashion cameras (with lots of gear, lens sets, handheld photometers, flash equipment, etc). My first digital camera was Sony Cybershot DSC-F707. I have this camera from 2002. Since then (I feel ashame telling this) never use film again. On August 2007 I bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-H9 for my Tunisia trip, which has most of the specs of 707, plus much stronger lens (15x optical zoom, eq 31 - 460 mm) and can accept up to 8 GB memory. But, been in Amorgos island, I discover that its batery limit is 130 shots! So, I missed a ship wreck, which was a very interesting theme!! After some !%#@!!%^&, I told myself always remember to have in my gear my old fashion Canon, ready to shot!!! On December 2007 I bought a Nikon D200, a AF-S Nikkor 18-135, a Sigma 18-200 OS, a Nikkor 60 macro, a Sigma 70-300 and a Manfrotto tripod, a monopod...
