Heading south to the tip of the Ashizuri Peninsula, there wasn't much traffic. I think most took the Skyline and didn't follow the curvy coastal road. Through this stretch, the guard rails were solid with bundled rice.

At a small town well off the main coastal road, the villagers took time off from using their docks for fishing boats and nets and used them to spread the rice over tarps for drying.

Actually, these guys were on their way down while I stood at the top waiting for my turn. I should have brought gloves because it seemed the chains were always wet and muddy. This wasn't too far from the Sansou Shirasa.
