A fine example of a male Drinker Moth. This moth gets its name from its caterpillars habit of sipping dew and raindrops from the grasses on which it feeds, This moth was found at The Bog in Shropshire.
Nicrophorus vespillo, the Common Burying Beetle, seen in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, July 2017. Notice also the tiny mite that is attached to the beetle just below its eye. The mite is just hitching a ride on the larger beetle and causes no real harm .
