Mr Stompanato's work captures brilliantly a darker side of his hometown. Intentional or not, his photographs show that even in Berlin's shiny new "now", history lurks around every corner and an undercurrent of inequality that existed prior to the Wall's removal is still there - gently reminding us of what life was like and how some of that mentality is still with us today.
