Zollverein. How beautiful and artful can words sound, when they are in another language than my own. Industrial words, sounding like statues made of steel and rust: "Fördergerust" "Zeche Prosper" "Kokerei" "Erdgeschoss" "Kohlenwäsche". Worth the journey.

just trying out how to create an album
August 6, 2007I was in Cambrai and discovered that the top of cool is cruising around in a car whilst playing electro in loud mode. I saw a guy circle a parking lot five times, another one (trousers of a red jumpsuit, white t shirt over his belly and moustache and haircut fitting a Schlagersänger lover) standing casually next to his small peugeot, door open, monotones at top volume, people hanging out of windows. It was eerie, I crossed the street and walked away, puzzled.
July 12, 2007The documenta in Kassel, and on the way back to the Zollverein Essen, industrial site in the Ruhr. Documenta en Kassel itself were great, saw a few things that impressed me a great deal, and the atmosphere was very nice. The Zollverein in Essen was impressive, hadn't the time to see it thoroughly but it was amazing, reader of this blog I advise you: go visit the Zollverein and don't forget your camera,
