Excellent. I'm glad someone's enjoying them. I've always felt the Opus 33 cycle is the most inexplicably neglected masterpiece in the whole history of music. You never hear any of them played on classical radio stations.

An interesting selection - but why no Dvorak's 8th? (I adore it!)

Alas, this is the third such collection I've assembled over the unsettled course of my chipmunk's life; I have to agree there are many gaps in it. I had enormous numbers of concerti grossi and other baroque recordings - as well as the complete DG Beethoven Bicentennial Edition on vinyl - during an earlier incarnation, but I gave it all away to a public library on the occasion of my sudden departure from a city thousands of miles away from anywhere worth being. And I quite agree one cannot have too much Dvorak.

BTW, while I haven't made much hullabaloo about the recordings I do have, I would like to specifically mention the Junge Süddeutsche Philharmonie Esslingen's performance of Bruckner's 9th. Whatever technical rough edges the youths show, the spirit and passion in their reading of this immortal masterpiece is quite impressive. This recording never fails to move me.

What a nice surprise to see the Weimar music cd uploaded . . .I had no idea you liked such music!
As a matter of fact, I had also been thinking of uploading some of my collection of German "Schlager" from the 1930s and 1940s, but have no idea how to go about doing it . . .can you let me know via a "private" Ipernity email and in SIMPLE language, how to do it? I would be so grateful, dear.

The language will be simple, but the concepts will doubtless be wholly unintelligible. ;p

It certainly must be difficult for you to work on this problem, particularly since you don't have any fingers or toes to count on!

Actually, I do have toes... 4 on each foot, 3 in front and 1 in back. But it's so much easier to do math pecking it out on a electronic calculator than try to use my toes!

I have just spent a very pleasant forty minutes or so listening to the musical excerpts on this page while I cleaned some old photograph frames and glass at my desk . . . I just wanted to thank you so much for having uploaded the music.

You can't beat Dvořák. You can try, but you won't get away with it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Unfortunately, I tried listening to some more "Rusalka" this evening and couldn't get anything to play . . .I clicked on the track links and . . . NOTHING! I also tried some other albums, and the same thing. I do have "RealPlayer" installed, so surely it can't be that? Have you any ideas? Remember, I am hopeless at computers!

I have found that very, very frequently, the scripts on Ipernity pages do not load properly the first time and that pages need to be refreshed before they will work.

I'll keep trying . . .now it's my bed-time, with a nice drink and a read of my book : "Alone in Berlin", by Hans Fallada. I can strongly recommend it! Night-night.
