Thanks, I really appreciate it. I am very active, more quanity than quality I think. Please feel free to stop by any time.
BTw, I love your sunsets but your people are even better.
Merci Gee Dub. Je reviendrais demain, tes photos sont magnifiques. Je suis déjà inscrite au Groupe.

Just keep coming back to my photostream and you will see. Most of my images are street images from Hollywood. It's a breautiful place and not really what you might think it to be.
If you mean "them" being celebrities, my brother is a celebrity (not in movies though) and have met a few and see a few at my work . My experience is that "they" are just like everybody else. Soom are cool and others are jerks.
Thanks for visiting...This is the first time I've met someone from Hollywood! I'm just over the hill in the valley. Perhaps sometime I'll catch you taking one of your 'street' photographs!!
The image I selected caught my eye as being rather unique and different, which is what Photo Potpourri is about. The group isn't about any one thing or type of photograph. As a member goes through the images posted to the group, there will be many different types of photos. If you feel your image doesn't belong or you do not want your images among those that not to your liking, you do not have to post. It is not a group for everyone, but is a place for images that don't fit into normal typical type of images. Thank you for posting it. I think others will find it unique too.
Gee Dub
A lot of people travel to different places and take photos of famous buildings and scenery. But to get a real understanding of place your have to see the people. After all, it is the people that make place what it is. It is the variety of people that truely makes LA a wonderful and at the same time difficult place to live. The only constant in LA is that it is always changing. I try to bring some of that in my images posted here.
My son worked for Nickolodean for many years which allowed me to get to know that area of L.A.
It is a fantastic area for people and idea exchange. I will love keeping up with your work.
You are very deserving of praise for your fine work. I like most B&W work but my favorites involve people and candid street photography in particular or super high contrast.
Thanks to all the commenters to my photostream over the past few weeks. I have been very busy getting this photosharing site set up and running. Over 3000 posts since joining in Dec '07.
I especially want to thank lesemoewe for his comment concerning my floral macros. This was high praise indeed from a master floral macro photographer himself. If you want to see a great album of floral macros, please stop by his photostream. He even knows all the botanical names of the flowers!
Thanks to all who noticed that I got a little older today. I would have prefered to have my age remain unknown but because of the age restrictions on some of the groups I have joined it was necessary to put a born date in my profile. I suppose I could have changed the year so I could be the age that I feel, but then I couldn't join some of those groups ;-)
Since taking up photography more seriously, I do believe that it has made me feel younger again. It is like seeing things for the first time. I used to go through life just barely noticing the things around me. Now I am seeing my world around me more clearly, for now I am seeing where before I was just looking.
Gee Dub
You've been so kind visiting my little pot and leaving your note, many thanks for it.
It's a pity I have no time enough to sail the ipernity seas, so I am always late to get everywhere here. Anyway, I looked in your page and it looks so attractive. I will keep an eye on you: it's a promise.
Thanks, I did get a pretty nice set out of my last trip. I would love to see more European candid beach photos. It seems they are inclined to go without the bikini top ocassionally. My faves though are the ones where you catch people in the background reacting to what you are seeing. Taking these shots may look easy but is a lot harder than you might think. Some people do not take to kindly to your taking their photo and can get pretty threatening at times. Be sure to never even look like you are taking photos of children. You have to be quick and reactive. A golden shot will vanish in a second and you cannot go and ask for a retake.
Be sure to send me a note when you try your hand at it. Your portfolio has some excellent work.
I like to see the people in your photos, they are all in natural action in their daily life...Also indian festival photos and your reflection photos are great, too..Congratulations, very good photo stream..
Thanks for the interest on my photowork and Welcome in my group " Arpenteurs de Rue "(arpenteursderue.group.ipernity.com ).
Share your experience and follow our section " Arpen' Thèmes ".
Thank you and goodbye.
It's even nicer that you take the time to add so many comments. I'm trying to keep this b-day low key. My Chinese horoscope warns me to keep the celebrations to a minimum this year.
I am a bit sad but I knew that it would happen one day. It had been so long since the last purge that I thought I had a good formula not to get deleted. I think since I stopped being Pro they figured it would save them some space. I had over 12k there. Funny thing is they will delete me but will not remove any photos of mine that are linked to blogs or other referencing sites. All my links at Hubpages still refer back to my images in my deleted account. They still get advertising for their site from my originals but I can't access them myself? I wonder if that is legal.
One benefit is that I can spend more time here and more attention to my groups. Thank god I moved all my original work here. Now all we need is for Yahoo to buy Ipernity and impose the same rules as Flickr.
Let's hope that doesn't happen! And it sucks that they still have your shots grazing on the flickr-farm, but you can't do anything about it. I'd send them a nasty letter requiring the deletion of those 12k shots. It's more of a loss to the hundreds or thousands of flickr members that appreciate the hard work you do and the great photos. I am glad that you had already made the move to Ipernity! Sorry about that... I thought you were safe forever - like a rock.
I am sorry for your Flickr account Gee, but you know they are in a crazy road about the candid photographers....they have a great economic power which allows them to do what they want! Well, the candid world will abandon Flickr forever after your deletion, and we all are working for Ipernity to become the 1st social networking site on the web ( already is !! ) ! Thanks for moderating my group in a such exemplar way!
Thank you for joining Anything Beautiful group. Hope to see more of your beautiful pictures. Feel free to post topics in our discussion like challenges, games and photography tips. Also, please invite your friends to join. Cheers!!
