Where did the last year go? We came back from a holiday in France and then became stupidly busy. Then I bought a new camera, which meant I needed Lightroom, because PSE doesn't work with my RAW files. My laptop isn't powerful enough to run Lightroom, so I had to start using the PC. July 23, 2013...I was kneeling on the damp grass by my garden pond, hunting for nymphs. Why on earth do I do it? Well, about three weeks earlier, I had found some large dragonfly nymphs resting in the shallow areas of the pond. July 2, 2013...and the macro lens is almost permanently fixed to the camera. What a wonderful time of year for an insect lover. The countryside is full of dragons and damsels, butterflies, moths, caterpillars, beetles and bugs (to mention but a few). Colour, texture and detail are everywhere. All I have to do now is to get down on my hands and knees (not as easy as it used to be) and try to get up close and personal with the subjects, amidst the lush summer undergrowth.
