I know I'm not too active on here, but I came across this when I was looking for some specs to build some new digital poles for my game. This is very interesting and has some really nice drawings about what seems to be government manadated specs for 34.5kv and 69kv transmission lines. It's got drawings of many different styles with and without shield wiring. Take a look, it's in PDF format so you need Acrobat Reader. The drawings are toward the end. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3tz8fj5fnqjd…

It wraps around the west side of Basile and up north through the town. I'm not sure where it ends as I've never traced the entire circuit. The town of Basile is unusual as it runs on 34.5kv distribution circuits instead of using 34.5kv transmission to connect to a sub and re…
January 5, 2014I have recently found out that Cleco has also completed the transition over to MISO. However I have also heard that Cleco's rates are about to go up again. (Thank God I'm on Slemco!) According to insider info, Cleco is building a new power plant in St. Tammany Parish. This is a parish located on the north shore of the Ponchatrain, north of New Orleans. The entire area is surrounded by Entergy grids, but for some reason, that one Parish is on Cleco, even though it is hundreds of miles fr…
