Playing the Ukulele is so much easier than the guitar. All those impossible chords that you could never play on a guitar are so much easier on the Uke. Though they say if you cut the two back strings off your guitar and put a capo on the 5th fret you can play it like a Uke. Give my best to Francis. I always felt he was a man with a heart when the EBI/NCBI wars were raging ;-)

gasp Rob: that is a really really good piece of remembering; you are exactly right. Sorry for the silly name (Armitage Shanks); I was in the EBI for a week and every time I went to the bathroom I saw that name. You have been making really beautiful photographs and music. Francis Oullette was sitting beside me when I found one of your blogs (I was bored in a protein protein interaction demo) and I showed him some of your photos and he asked me to say "hello". You have a great gift of writing (blogs), visuals (photos) and music. I had no idea when I knew you so many years ago that you had all that inside you. I am blown away. I am in Dublin now with two kids (18 and 16) and still with Heather. I took up guitar 10 years ago as a middle aged man and it is feckin hard. You play Ukulele very very well.
