Should we change our format for the 2023 event?

PLEASE ADD HERE ANY CHANGES YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE FOR IPERNITY'S 2023 WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY EVENT.

For two years we have celebrated World Photography Day by taking a photograph on that day, August 19th, then sharing it in the group.

There have been some suggestions made to change this format.

This group discussion is the place to make those suggestions public.

Once ideas have been made here, we can discuss if any changes will be made for 2023.

Please note that so far I have been the only person running the event. Some ideas for changes may not be feasible because of that. But please feel free to make all suggestions here.

I'm happy with the existing format & rules.

Due to some factors I wasn't able to contribute this year, although I did partake in 2021.
Maybe I need a better plan for 2023 !

Hello Laura thank you for your continuing work for the group, I think the rules etc. should stay as they are, it's about taking a photo that is part of your world on the day some members are able to go somewhere photogenic for some it may have to be all the ironing that they have to do !! it doesn't matter it's not a competition

It has historically just been one photo each, taken on the day. Perhaps more than one photo per person could be allowed?

First of all, thank you for organizing everything, Laura.
I think that the challenge to find a good photo opportunity that special day is enlightening and enjoyable for all.
The existing conditions suit me well, I think there is no need to change anything.

I share the commentators' satisfaction with the existing conditions.
I think that restricting the choice (e.g. by imposing a theme or something else) would not be a good idea. But everyone agrees, certainly.
I personally don't see how these rules can be changed. The success of the last day seems to me to be conclusive.

Thank you, Laura. I cannot think of any changes to the format that would improve my experience of participating in the World Photography Day on Ipernity. Being tied to one picture taken on a particular day is a good discipline and a spur to the imagination!

For 2023 we will be trying allowing a second photo (in the description fo the first photo), as long as it is also taken on August 19th.

We will discuss how that went after this year's event.
