The complaints about the Doc Manager, an new rating system and other improvements in the way Ipernity works and looks seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. Look at the discussions here and you will not see any new topics for a long time. People here are tired of making suggestions only to have nobody at Ipernity to respond. Many things were promised to be working on and to expect changes in a few months that never came to be.
Maybe it's the economy or getting enough people to start implementing changes is the problem. Maybe it's just the competition from Flickr is too strong or not enough paying Pro members. I have noticed many members that were ex-flickr members going back to Flickr for just this reason. If Ipernity had kept improving and implemented some of these wonderful suggestions by it's members I think a lot would have stayed. Without the large viewer pool that Flickr has and less functionality Ipernity will continue to be an also ran compared to Flickr.
Lately it seems that Ipernity has spent more time suspending or terminating memberships that making improvements that will increase membership.
I once had high hopes for Ipernity to be a better, improved version of Fickr with a nice European flare. Now I am not so sure.

My Pro - account was suspended a few weeks ago after being two years a pro but in the moment I don't seem any reason for renew it - the basic fits my needs and improvements seems not going online. But - well, maybe the meetings, the awards and so on needs to much time so no time for coding was left.
